Oscars 2015 — Best Picture

This is one of the most difficult Oscar races in almost a decade. Boyhood was initially picking up the big awards like the Globes, Critics Choice, and BAFTA, but it has lost some of the other important ones to Birdman like the DGA, PGA, and SAG cast award. This is the big rivalry of the year, however The Imitation Game and American Sniper are box office successes and are certainly in contention as well.

If we look at it based on what wasn’t nominated for Film EditingBirdman, Selma, and Theory lose out, which gives Budapest another shot at the prize. It could split in a multitude of ways, but we’ve chosen Boyhood to get the top prize. Partially due to our immense love of the film, but mainly because it captured the voters.

For films we wish had made it, Nightcrawler and Gone Girl stand out the most.

  1. Boyhood
  2. Birdman
  3. The Grand Budapest Hotel
  4. The Imitation Game
  5. American Sniper
  6. Selma
  7. Whiplash
  8. The Theory of Everything
