Artist of the Month: Luke Pell + singles reviewed

Standard

Finally, I can announce that March’s artist of the month is Luke Pell! You may know him from JoJo’s season of The Bachelorette, where he made it to 3rd place and won the hearts of America along the way. Now he’s working on country music and touring the southern states with other Bachelor Nation alums.

Check below for information on his two singles from 2017: Pretty Close and Best Thing You’ve Ever Done!Although a lot of Bachelorette fans may want to assume he’s still heartbroken over JoJo, that doesn’t seem to be the case with these songs. Honestly, I’m happy we’ll be getting more than the usual country heartbreak from him.

His first single of 2017 was Pretty Close, released in January. I’ve been listening to this one a lot since it’s initial release and I’m looking forward to hearing more of his music as the year continues. Here, Luke proves he still has his romantic side, singing about ideal relationships and what he’s looking for post-Bachelor. It’s a more unique look at overcoming a breakup, by seeing what you can learn from it instead of moping about what could have been.

Released on March 1st was Best Thing You’ve Ever Done, part breakup and part love song. Initially, that sounded like a bit of a strange combination but as the song progressed I really grew to love it. It’s about getting over a girl who broke your heart and moving on to better things afterwards. Bachelorette fans will be happy to assume this is about Luke getting over JoJo, but might not be as excited to hear him talk about new women he’s found.

Check out both songs on iTunes, and find Luke Pell on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Have any questions you want me to ask in my interview coming out later this month? Leave me a comment and check back soon!
