Tango inspires some hot and fiery music at Surrey Arts Centre

Surrey Civic Theatres presents Classical Coffee Concert: L’histoire du Tango—featuring hot and fiery music by the Bergmann Piano Duo and flute virtuoso Paolo Bortolussi—at the Studio Theatre at Surrey Arts Centre on Sunday, April 23 (social hour 2:30pm | concert 3:30pm).

Elizabeth and Marcel Bergmann—known worldwide as the Bergmann Piano Duo—are famous for their razzle-dazzle playing and their uniquely eclectic programs. Extraordinary performers and entertaining storytellers, this husband-and-wife team brings their magical touch to the intimate and casual Classical Coffee Concert Series. The concerts follow a social hour in the lobby—with coffee, tea, and delicious goodies. For the final concert of this season, tango is the focal point so be prepared for some hot and fiery music by theBergmanns and flute virtuoso Paolo Bortolussi. They’ll also explore some other dance inspired works for flute and piano. This energetic programme features works by composers such Piazzolla, Prokoviev, Poulenc, and more. The musicians will be available for a chat after the performance.
