Last week, Becca left off a little uncertain after the weird Jean Blanc experience. Tonight, Becca’s all better for a week in Vegas. There’s chemistry, singing, hot tubs, and that fateful two-on-one date—finally!
Colton gets the one on one for the week, riding off into the sunset. We keep getting hints at this virgin reveal (virgin river, seriously?). Colton is so awkward on his camel, so they get into a hot tub in the middle of the desert to finally heat things up. He’s saying all the right things, but just wait until the evening! We find out that love has confusion and pain associated with it for him, so he’s the wounded boy that’ll be guarded and need some consoling. Aww, booboo.
Wills, Garrett, Blake, Connor, Leo, Jason, and Lincoln all get the group date to prove that they’re Mr. Las Vegas, which no one understands. Honestly, I wish they were doing a chippendales date instead of the Wayne Newton thing… I didn’t even know he was still alive. So he sings a little bit of his classic Danke Shoen, and then the men are sent off to come up with their own lyrics to perform in front of a little audience. Everyone was so baaaaad until Chris ended up doing an incredible job with the crowd.
Somehow, he thinks a good performance on stage (still cringeworthy, tbh) brings him an immediate rose even though he sits back without getting any time with her. I have no time for cocky boys like him, but his drama isn’t ending just yet. Becca gets some cute time with Garrett, but then Blake casually drops the “I’m falling in love with you” line in such a calm, collected manner and I’m stunned. I’ve been a Blake fan since their one on one, but he handled that in such a sweet, mature manner. Awww, let’s give him all the roses tonight.
The Jordan and David drama ramped up this week for the end reveal of shock. horror. gasp. the two on one. I’m sure we’re all incredibly surprised by that turn of events, Chris Harrison was right—most dramatic season yet… Ever since getting back from the hospital, David has been an absolute nightmare. Not only is he getting on Jordan’s nerve with the “how did you feel about getting the last rose?” thing, he’s also being a complete baby. Can I switch to Team Jordan before they both get sent home? “David’s face is in my underpants” is probably the best line of the series though…
They bounce around in a Jeep to get to the classic 2-on-1 location and David immediately starts hounding Becca with how awful of a person Jordan is. Jordan thinks he’s settling, Jordan wants to date models, blah blah blah. Cue the Arie flashbacks and the confrontational desert scene.
So let’s get right to it: Becca confronts Jordan and he opens up about his dad’s unconditional love of his mother with what seems like serious mental illness, in a family that didn’t have much and sometimes went without electricity. It’s a very sad story, and I’m sure he’s being truthful, but it also sounded a little too staged like he’d practiced the story for times like these when he needed some sympathy. Am I jaded? Probably, but that’s this show. Becca goes off to think while Jordan heads back to confront David. David looks like a smug asshole, Jordan is blubbering like a fool, and Becca finally makes her decision to send David home. See ya! In the evening, he talks about modelling, modelling, modelling. Unsurprisingly, Jordan gets sent home along with David.
Chris’ drama continues to the cocktail party since he’s so shocked about the group date rose. Suddenly he’s anxious and ready to walk away from the whole thing but… of course he doesn’t. Becca pulls Chris away to start off and he immediately says she owes him kisses. Ummm, ‘scuse me—this is not her fault.
Garrett suddenly shows some great emotional maturity when discussing the Chris drama with the men and Wills stands up for himself in the most polite way I’ve seen on this show. She has some real class acts on here… and then there’s Chris.
Roses: Colton (1on1), Blake (group), Garrett, Jason, Wills, Lincoln, Leo, Connor, and Chris.
Men Leaving: David (2on1), Jordan (2on1), and John.
Next week, we travel to Richmond, Virginia…apparently known for its lovers? We’ll have some serenading, some drama, and someone makes Becca cry. We’re finally into the emotional and romantic part of the season and I’m so excited. Ah, the fairytale can finally begin!
