VTSL presents hilarious, Vancouver-based comedy in Avocado Toast

This summer, Vancouver TheatreSports™ (VTSL) takes an affectionate and comedic look at what makes Vancouver so unique. Running through to September 1st at The Improv Centre on Granville Island, Avocado Toast – Vancouver Grown, Free-Range Comedy pokes fun at YVR and its stereotypes.

The show progresses with a focus on developers buying up the theatre. To save the theatre, the cast is forced to make audience-member Ms Concord Pacific laugh. Can they succeed in their goal by 9pm to save the theatre? Only time will tell…

There were lots of pokes at quirky neighbourhoods (Mount Pleasant, Yaletown, and the West End in our show) and general Vancouverite stereotypes mixed throughout the show, but they never felt overpowering or forced. Visitors to the Vancouver region who may not be aware of our tropes will still have a great time with fitness breaks at fifteen-minute intervals (audience participation in yoga, cycling, and …seal movements?), and general improv games fun.

Audiences will also get an amazing feel for Vancouver through the incredible sets, capturing the skyline filled with cranes and mountains, developers, our crazy parking options, and bike lines.

Avocado Toast is a not-to-be-missed show. It’s fun for all those finding themselves in Vancouver. For tickets and more information, check out vtsl.com
