Oscars 2019 – Best Original Song

This year we saw two Best Picture nominees with lots of dramatic musical performances, yet most were ineligible for this category. Bohemian Rhapsody utilized many Queen songs but wasn’t able to add any new music. A Star is Born’s “Shallow” seems unbeatable this year. Lady Gaga’s performance has been embraced by fans so intensely, it would be a shock to find anyone else holding the statuette.

  1. “Shallow” from “A Star Is Born” by Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, Andrew Wyatt and Benjamin Rice
  2. “All The Stars” from “Black Panther” by Kendrick Lamar, SZA
  3. “I’ll Fight” from “RBG” by Diane Warren, Jennifer Hudson
  4. “The Place Where Lost Things Go” from “Mary Poppins Returns” by Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman
  5. “When A Cowboy Trades His Spurs For Wings” from “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs” by David Rawlings and Gillian Welch
